Climber to 7m. Sheaths covered with spines to 10mm long. Leaf to 430mm long with spines, 3-6 leaflets per side to 430mm x 35mm. Inflorescence to 3m long covered in recurved spines, rachillae to 30mm long with bracts to 1mm long. Pistillate rachillae to 80mm long with bracts to 2mm long, pistillate flowers with sepals 1.5mm long, petals 2mm long.
