Looping spiny climbing palm. Fronds to 2.4m long with rachis to 900mm long with terminal armed cirrus, spiny pale or yellowish-green leaflets both sides to 400mm x 20mm. Inflorescence 900mm long pale green enclosed in scurfy brown spinescent bract to 300mm long.Female flowers 5mm long. Green fruit 12mm diameter.
