Climbing rattan palm to 20m. Sheaths with spines to 25mm x 5mm. Leaves to 1.5m, 12-29 leaflets per side, longest to 400mm x 50mm, armed along margins. Male inflorescence to 1.5m with bracts armed with spines. Beaked brown fruit to 40mm x 25mm.
