Climbing clustering rattan to 4.5m. Stem sheaths to 13mm diameter. Leaves to 500mm long with spines, 7-9 pairs of unarmed leaflets to 350mm x 30mm with black bristles. Pistillate inflorescence to 340mm long with spines, bracts to 1.5mm x 1mm & bracteoles to 1.5mm diameter. Pistillate flower with calyx 2mm long wth triangular lobes, petals 2mm x 1mm. Beaked fruit 10mm x 10mm with beak 1mm x 1mm.
