Very slender dioecious rattan palm, stems climbing to 3m. Bright green leaf sheaths armed with light brown spines to 7mm, leaf to 180mm long armed with black-tipped rigid spines to 3mm long, up to 8 pendulous leaflets per side with short bristles along margins, basal leaflets to 168mm x 7mm, mid laminar leaflets to 184mm x 8mm & apical leadlets to 12mm x 7mm. Pendulous pistillate inflorescence to 600mm long with bracts & armed with scattered black rigid spines to 2mm. Beaked fruit 15mm x 10mm dull green to creamy yellow.
