Climbing clustering rattan to 25m. Spiny leaves to 1m long with spiny sheaths to 6mm x 1.5mm, dark green above and pale brown beneath, 6-8 pairs of leaflets, longest to 410mm x 40mm. Staminate inflorescence to 2.5m long, yellowish-green flowers, sickly scented, staminate flowers 3mm x 1mm with calyx 1.5mm diameter, corolla 2.5mm x 1mm. Pistillate inflorescence similar with bracteoles 1.5mm x 1.5mm.
