Climbing scrambling palm. Leaves to 1m+ with 34-40 leaflets, keaf blades to 300mm x 30mm with toothed margin. numerous hooks on leaf sheath. Inflorescence to 2m long, male flowers 3mm diameter. Greenish-white berries to 15mm x 11mm.
Canes used in basketry, leaves & stems regarded as controceptives
