Climbing & creeping palm to 24m. Leaves to 4m long with bristle-like spines to 3mm long, leaflets 510mm x 40mm with bristles to 7mm long. Male inflorescence to 1.25m armed with prickles, rachillae to 25mm long with 15-20 flowers per side armed with spines to 6mm long. Brown fruit with dark brown border 14mm x 9mm, appendage to 3mm long at apex.
