Glabrous tuberous-rooted climber with stems to 4m. Leaves to 65mm x 24mm. Subterminal cymes of aromatic yellow-green flowers, corona lobes with brown filiform appendages, tomentose sepals 2mm x 2mm, glabrous corolla 11mm diameter, tube to 1.2mm long, 5 lobes 7mm x 3mm, pink corona with yellow to brownish base, lobes 9mm long. Verrucose purple-grey follicles to 190mm x 8mm.

Pounded roots in water used to enhance lactation.
