Scrambling clump-forming rhizomatous perennial bamboo to 1.2m, culm sheaths hispid abaxially. Leaves to 220mm x 32mm, pubescent beneath. Pseudo-spikelets to 20mm with 2 or 3 bracts & 4-6 fertile florets, fertile lemma to 8mm long, 3 lodicules to 2.5mm long.
