Slender liana to 8m or lianescent shrub, brown-hairy branches becoming glabrescent. Mucronate brown-hairy papery leaves to 120mm x 60mm becoming glabrescent. Few to many-flowered axillary cymes with bracts & bracteoles to 8mm long. Sepals 7mm diameter, corolla to 10mm x 2mm with lobes to 4mm long, brownish-green outside, whitish inside. Glabrous fruit 12mm x 8mm.
