Tuberous climber with purple-brown pubescent stems to 5m. Leaves to 150mm long glabrous above pubescent beneath. Terminal racemes with pubescent bracts to 75mm long. 65mm crimson flowers, orange-red inside flecked chocolate or violet, red calyx, yellow-orange corolla with violet spots. Purple-brown fruit.
