Liana, herb or tree, sometimes scandent shrub to 4m with tetragonal glabrous stems. 3-5 parted serrated leaves to 120mm long, glabrous above, pubescent beneath. Flowers yellow 30mm across in corymbs, hispid flower heads with 8-10 hispid bracts to 6mm long, 5 yellow ray flowers to 16mm long. Hairy scabrous achenes with bristles 5.5mm long
