Liana to 30m, low climbing or clambering twining herbaceous perennial vine, herb, tree or subshrub often rooting at stem nodes, with hairy young branches, quadrangular bristly stems. Coriaceous 3-7 foliolate tomentose pinnate leaves to 192mm x 164mm, leaf segments to 48mm wide, serrate or toothed leaflets to 80mm x 35mm, glabrate above with white felt beneath. Terminal & lateral corymbs, panicles or cymes of bright yellow scented flowers, flower heads to 60mm wide with 8-12 bracts outer bracts to 9mm x 2.2mm, 6-13 inner bracts to 9mm x 3mm, 5-8 yellow ray florets to 27mm x 90mm, 18-38 disc florets to 9.5mm long. Dark brown to black glabrous achenes to 16mm x 0.75 with hairy margins, pappus 4mm long.
