Monoecious twining liana with with stinging hairs especially on fruits. Leaves to 115mm x 55mm with serrate margins, covered in urticating hair or glabrescent. Terminal racemes of greenish-white flowers, staminate raceme to 200mm long with bracts to 1mm long, flowers with 3 sepals to 4mm long with 8-9 segments to 2.5mm long, pistillate raceme to 100mm long elongating to 250mm in fruit with bracts to 2mm long, flowers with 6 sepals to 1.5mm long. 3-lobed capsule 4.5mm x 7mm with persistent sepals.
