Hemiepiphytic climbing or scrambling herb to 2.5m, with adventitious roots, maroon tomentose young growth becoming glabrescent. Leaves to 120mm x 50mm, glabrous above, pubescent beneath. Axillary few-flowered inflorescence, red, pink or white flowers, male flowers with sepals to 8mm x 3mm & petals to 4mm x 2mm, female flowers with 2 sepals & 2 petals. Dark red glabrous fruits to 30mm x 5mm, occasionally white.
