Climber to 5m, brown villous branches, stems purple. Serrated leaves to 110mm x 55mm, reddish beneath. Many-flowered axillary inflorescence to 80mm long, male flowers with 2 sepals, white flowers. Glabrous capsule to 7mm long with 2 wings, largest to 12mm x 6mm.
