Creeping to root-climbing herb. Stems to 250mm long. Variegated leaves dark green to blackish purple above, reddish beneath to 75mm x 85mm. Axillary hispid racemes to 95mm long with single basal female flower & many male flowers. Persistent bracts to 6mm x 3mm, green or whitish bracteoles to 0.75mm x 0.25mm. White flowers with translucent petals, male flowers with 2 hispid tepals to 5mm x 4.5mm, female flowers light green to 11mm x 5mm. Fruit a sparsely hispid capsule to 20mm x 15mm with wings to 7mm wide
