Annual or perennial liana or twining herb with, angular furrowed branches, axillary simple tendrils to 120mm long. unlobed to 3-lobed serrulate leaves purple when young 100mm x 70mm, lobes to 75mm x 30mm. 1-2 flowered inflorescence with bracts to 3mm, sepals to 7mm, no petals, greenish-white flowers to 15mm diameter. Yellow fruit capsule to 25mm long.
