Scandent subshrub to 5m with glabrous or hairy stems & axillary spines. Mucronate leaves mostly glabrous above to 135mm x 52mm, strigose beneath. Terminal spikes to 155mm long with bracts to 42mm x 14mm & spinose bracteoles to 14mm x 1.8mm. Calyx lobes to 12.5mm x 6.5mm, yellow, orange or apricot corolla to 43.5mm long with tube 12mm long & lobes to 22.5mm x 12mm. Glabrous capsule to 18.5mm long.
