Scrambling or climbing woody herb to 5m with mostly glabrous stems. Leaves to 160mm x 60mm, glabrous or pubescent above, hairy beneath. Axillary & terminal cymes with bracts to 28mm x 13mm & bracteoles to 12mm x 2mm, calyx lobes to 17mm x 8mm, blue or lilac-blue corolla to 45mm long with tube to 23mm x 11mm & lobes to 18mm x 21mm. Glabrous black capsule to 15mm x 8mm.
