Herbaceous woody twining sometime climbing liana or subshrub to 6m. Imparipinnate leaves 200mm long dull glabrous or hispid above, silky or with whitish pubescence beneath, 15 to 23 mucronate leaflets 40mm x 16mm. Few-flowered terminal or axillary racemes to 160mm long with bracts & bractlets to 10mm long, of red or red-orange flowers, pilose calyx tube to 20mm long with lobes 10mm long, corolla 55mm long, standard to 60mm long, wings to 13mm long, keel 23mm long. Flattened pubescent legume 70mm x 6mm.
