Fruiting Times
Spiny dioecious climber or shrub to 5m with tetragonal branches, large spines to 50mm or more long. Glabrous mucronate coriaceous leaves 50mm x 45mm. Axillary yellowish-green flowers in spikes or panicles with bracts, calyx to 4mm long with 4 teeth, greenish-white petals to 5mm long. Round green to whitish berry to 8mm diameter with persistent stigma, unpleasant smell.
