Liana or shrub, glabrous 5-angled branchlets with recurved prickles. Leaves to 50mm x 30mm with sharp teeth. Yellow-green flowers with purple base, glabrous sepals 6mm long, petals with appendage 6mm long. Fruit a spiny pod 15mm x 10mm, prickles to 4mm long.
