Tree to 6m or liane to 20m. Coriaceous leaves simple or trilobed to 75mm x 75mm, with apical sinus to 20mm deep. Pale yellow flowers with violet anthers. 40mm round 5-valved spiny green fruit maturing red-brown, prickles to 6mm long.
