Unarmed twining vine to 6m. Leaves to 100mm x 45mm. Axillary umbels with bracteoles to 20mm long, up to 8 dark purple flowers tipped yellow or cream or white flowers red or purple at base, petals 4.5mm long. Spiny fruit.
