High-twining unarmed liana or shrub with coriaceous glabrous leaves to 150mm x 70mm. Umbels to 6 flowers, purple flowers 4mm long or cream to yellow flowers, red at base, tomentulose calyx 4mm long, purple petals 4mm long with a claw. Spiny brownish capsule 15mm diameter.
