Glabrous high-climbing liana to 10m with thorny branches, spines to 4mm x 5mm. Coriaceous glabrous leaves to 200mm x 90mm. Many-flowered inflorescence with pubescent bracts, green & purple flowers, tomentose sepals to 4mm long, petals to 3mm long with claw to 1.5mm long. Green fruits.
