Woody rhizomatous climbing bamboo with scandent culms erect at first & later pendent to 6m. Glabrous culm leaves to 50mm x 15mm, culm sheaths to 90mm x 20mm. Glabrous foliage leaves to 170mm x 14mm. Racemes to 150mm long, coriaceous spikelets nearly glabrous to 28mm long, lower glumes to 9mm long & upper glumes to 10mm long
