Scandent clambering shrub to 7m with rusty tomentulose stems becoming glabrate. Hispid leaves to 90mm x 40mm. Cymose panicles, flower heads 6mm high with 16 bracts. 5-9 disc florets with glabrous lilac corolla 5mm long & limb 2.5mm long. Hispid achenes 2.5mm long with white pappus bristles to 5mm long.
