Liana to 15m, pubescent young stems becoming glabrate, with lenticels. Leaves to 110mm x 40mm, scabrous above, pubescent beneath. Corymbs to 140mm diameter, lilac flowers to 7mm long, corolla tube to 4.2mm with limb to 0.6mm x 0.5mm. Black achenes to 2mm long with white pappus to 3.8mm long.
