Weak climbing & scrambling or procumbent annual hispid herb, tetragonal stems with hooked spines or bristles. Leaves to 100mm x 36mm, both surfaces with white trichomes , margin & midrib with hooked hairs. Solitary or paired flowers, 2.5mm blue flowers, corolla 2mm long, white tube, hairy calyx to 1.5mm enlarged in fruit to 15mm, Fruit a nutlet to 3m.,
