Large woody liana to 25m with glabrescent striate young branches, more or less glabrous rwigs. Glabrous thinly coriaceous glabrous leaves to 130mm x 60mm, peduncles with small bracts, green to creamy-yellow flowers aging darker, slightly pubescent sepals 4mm x 4mm, minutely pubescent thick fleshy green to cream petals covered in pale hairs, reddish-purple at base to 15mm long, outer petals to 20mm x 7mm, inner petals 14mm x 5mm. Glabrous orange-yellow beaked fruit to 45mm x 35mm
