Liana or tall climbing shrub with glabrescent older stems & branches. Coriaceous leaves to 200mm x 70mm, glabrous above, hairy beneath. Inflorescence to 35mm wide with bracts to 3mm x 1mm, 8-12 flowers, hispid sepals to 4mm long, reddish, pink, whitish or yellowish petals to 9mm x 2mm, silky outside. Red pubescent fruit to 19mm x 11mm.
