Climbing shrub, small tree or liane to 10.5m with rusty- pubescent young shoots becoming glabrous. Coriaceous leaves to 150mmm x 75mm, glabrescent above, pubescent beneath. Axillary solitary flowers 29mm diameter on hooked or forked peduncles, sepals tomentose outside to 12.7mm long, glabrous yellow, cream or greenish coriaceous petals to 15mm long. Glabrous blackish-purple fruit to 22mm x 15mm.
