Herbaceous glabrous or puberulent woody twining liana to 2.6m, corky stems. Trilobate leaves glabrous above, puberulous beneath to 150m wide. Solitary pendulous glabrous 70mm gold-bronze flowers marked red-brown with a 200mm tail, marked with maroon, utricle to 50mm long, tube to 75mm long, upper lobe with appendage to 310mm long, calyx brown with purple stripes. 80mm hexagonal glabrous seed capsule
