Woody liana to 10m with glabrescent branches becoming corky with longitudinal fissures. Glabrous leaves to 230mm x 180mm. Cauliflorous cymes of 2-3 flowers, flower bracteoles to 3mm x 2.5mm, horseshoe shaped flower to 19mm high, yellowish-white, densely brown-hirsute with dark purple parallel veins, utricle to 50mm x 10mm becoming 13mm wide at apex, tube 50mm long to 18mm diameter, 3-lobed limb with purple warts. 6-angled dark brown capsule to 120mm x 20mm.
