Twining or scrambling vine to 40m with glabrescent branches, bark thick & corky, longitudinally irregularly deeply dissected. Coriaceous leaves to 450mm x 400mm, glabrous or sparsely hairy above, hairy beneath. Axillary or cauligerous spikes with bracts 1mm long, whitish or creamy-white flowers to 70mm long with brown or purple venation, curved tube to 25mm x 20mm, 3-lobed limb to 50mm, each lobe triangular, 3 alternate triangular lobes to 25mm x 15mm, utricle to 12mm x 8mm, yellow-green throat with a zone of white. 6-ribbed black capsule to 350mm x 60mm.
