Twiner or creeper. Leaves to 85mm x 47mm, pouberulous or glabrous above, pubescent beneath. Lilac and purple solitary or axillary flowers, bristly dark limb, lip to 30mm, tube to 26mm x 6mm, utricle to 17mm x 18mm. Whole flower resembles a beetle. Glabrous capsule to 41mm x 15mm
