Twining vine to 15m with yam-like rootstock, wiry pubescent young stems. Glabrous leaves to 200mm x 80mm. Pubescent flowers to 43mm long, tube to 15mm long opening to 14mm diameter & 26mm wide at apex, lobes 6mm long, utricle & tube white outside blotched maroon, deep maroon throat. Fruit to 100mm x 30mm ripening orange.
