Perennial woody liana to 20m with slightly flattened pubescent stem becoming corky with maturity. Coriaceous leaves to 260mm x 150m, entire or 2-lobed to half the length, glabrous above & villous beneath. Cymes in clusters of 1-4 each with 1-3 flowers on young branches & old woody stems, inflorescence with bracteoles to 2mm x 1.8mm, horseshoe-shaped flower to 32mm long, utricle to 9mm x 6mm opening to 9mm wide at apex, outside yellowish-white with purple veins, inside dark purple & pubescent, horseshoe shaped tube to 8mm diameter, yellow-white with purple veins & cream inside, upper tube to 25mm x 6mm becoming 11mm wide at apex, limb with 3 unequal lobes, lateral lobes to 13mm x 7mm, mid-lobe to 11mm x 6mm, throat bright yellow. 6-ridged brown-hairy yellow-green capsule to 100mm x 25mm.
