Scandent shrub or climber to 10m with twisted glabrous branches. Leaves to 150mm x 70mm, glabrous above, puberulous beneath. Axillary spikes to 35mm long with bract to 3mm long, glabrescent flowers to 15mm long, green, red and grey, with a 1-lipped limb to 12mm x 3mm. 6-ridged capsule to 50mm x 12mm.
