Slender climbing vine or liana to 40m with corky bark. Coriaceous pubescent leaves to 450mm x 400mm. Cauligerous axillary solitary or paired inflorescence with bracts to 1mm, flowers to 70mm long, tube to 25mm x 20mm, 3-lobed, lobes to 50mm long with 3 curving tendrils 25mm x 2mm, utricle to 12mm x 8mm, densely woolly hairy inside, dark purple-black in base, smooth white to greenish-white above, perianth lobes lime green above, tendrils pale orange. 6-ribbed capsule to 350mm x 60mm, black when ripe.
