Twiner to 5m with villous stems becoming glabrous. Villous leaves to 140mm x 110mm. Solitary pendent flowers cream with red stripes inside, mostly red outside with dark throat,with a bracteole to 5mm x 5mm, calyx reddish with purple veins. basal portion of tube to 23mm long, upper portion to 30mm long, 3-lobed limb to 30mm diameter, yellow throat with brownish-red patches, to 9mm diameter. Capsule to 70mm x 25mm.
