Large liana with with twining petioles, woody stems. Coriaceous glabrous leaves to 175mm x 110mm. Pilose cauliflorous cymes with bracts to 4mm long, purple-brown flowers yellow inside with unpleasant odour, utricle to 32mm x 18mm, greenish to yellowish-white outside with nurmeous purple spots tube to 36mm x 8mm, 2-3 glabrous deep purple lobes, 1 to 40mm x 16mm & other 2 to 50mm x 18mm. Orange-yellow fruit.
