Climbing somewhat herbaceous shrub with leaves to 150mm x 150mm sometimes 3-lobed, glabrate above and grey-white pubescent beneath. Solitary or paired axillary 52mm yellow & purple flowers. Fruit capsule to 70mm long x 20mm, 6-ribbed, green becoming yellowish
