Slender twining subshrub or shrub with glabrous angular branches. Large trilobed leaves to 230mm x 240mm (can reach 500mm x 300mm), midlobe to 200mm x 100mm, lateral lobes to 150mm x 60mm. Axillary inflorescence to 250mm long with 1.5mm bracts, purple-brown or red flowers to 110mm long, glabrous outside. 6-chambered glabrous capsule to 60mm x 25mm.
