Glabrous climber to 6m with leaves 200mm x 150mm. Solitary large reddish-purple flowers 450mm long with unpleasant smell, red-purple ribs outside brownish-yellow mottled inside, tube 150mm long, limb 225mm diameter x 150mm long, 3 lobes with tails 50mm long. Fruits with 6 well-marked ribs.
