High-climbing or procumbent twiner with angled rusty pubescent branchlets. Leaves to 200mm x 100mm, scabrous above & densely pubescent beneath. Dark green flowers with white throat & red dots, sweet-sour odour, calyx villous within, utricle to 15mm long, tube to 20mm x 20mm, lip to 35mm long. Fruits ripening brown to 70mm long.
