Herbaceous twiner pungently odorous with glabrous stems.Glabrous leaves to 80mm x 50mm. Axillary solitary flowers, yellowish calyx with dark purple throat to 35mm long x 5mm, utricle 5mm diameter, tube 15mm x 2mm, limb to 35mm x 10mm. Fruit capsule to 15mm diameter.
